FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Question: On PayFast, I am getting an error message “3D Secure Transaction failed: Your card was not accepted for payment.
Please try the transaction again. If the error persists, please consult your issuer/bank for more information (05)”.
What does this mean?
Answer: This error message is returned from the bank as the 3D secure verification is failing when the donor attempts payment
with their credit card. 3D Secure is an extra layer of security in using your credit card for online transactions.
For online transactions over R1000 you'll be asked to enter your 3D Secure password which is called Verified by Visa
and MasterCard SecureCode by the respective credit card companies. If it fails while you are trying to donate money,
please contact your bank directly to register 3D Secure.
